A Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) examiner will observe you delivering a Client Centred Driving lesson to one of your pupils for approximately 45 minutes.
  • Lesson introduction (up to 3 minutes): Begin by discussing the goals for the session and agreeing on risk management strategies with your pupil.

  • Driving time (around 40 minutes): Your pupil should spend the majority of the lesson driving. While you cannot dedicate the entire lesson to teaching a manoeuvre, you may include a brief recap of one previously taught.

  • Immediate feedback: If necessary, you may safely stop during the lesson to provide guidance or correct errors.

  • Lesson reflection (up to 3 minutes): At the end of the session, allow your pupil time to reflect on their performance.

The examiner will assess whether your teaching meets the National Standard for Driver and Rider Training.
